Planning

Wind Measurement International provides services on the technical aspects of the planning process. During the initial stages of developing a site there are many restrictions to consider. Through Wind Measurement International's network of regional and national partners we can provide a turnkey contractor solution to your development.

We have best-in-their-field professionals to screen your site for any potential pitfalls. In later stages they can specify and complete documentation to meet statutory planning requirements. From stand alone screening, photomontage, zone of visual Influence, and noise assessment through to complete environmental impact assessments, WMI has the package to suit your requirements.

The main technical aspects of planning that Wind Measurement International provides support on are:

  • Desktop Noise Assessment and provision of 10m and hub height wind monitoring campaigns specifically aimed to work well with background noise measurement and meet current EU standards..
  • Proximity to public spaces/paths, overhead power lines, microwave links.
  • Electromagnetic interference with respect to mobile phone, radar and TV transmission.
  • Zone of Visual Influence (ZVI) to assess landscape and visual impact of wind turbines.
  • Photomontages from key view points.
